Purple Roses
My grandfather grew roses, but I have never managed myself. I find them fascinating. Both painful and beautiful, a little like life sometimes. I painted them in dark purples combined with highlights and gold to make them feel like a light in the darkness. Like a sparkle of hope when the light is dimming.
